The Journey Back to Being

Embarking on a journey of self-realization is the first step towards understanding the non-dual nature of existence. Here’s a brief guide to get you started:

Self-Realization: The Awakening:  Self-realization is the recognition of our true essence beyond the ego. It’s an awakening to the fact that we are more than our thoughts, emotions, and physical bodies. Realising the Self is a return to Being.

The Non-Dual Path: Unity of Existence Non-duality teaches us that there is no separation between us and the universe. It’s the experiential understanding that all of life is interconnected and that the sense of a separate ‘self’ is an illusion.

Essential Pointers to get started on the Journey:

  1. Self-Awareness: Begin by observing your thoughts and feelings without judgment. Be the observer. Sit and do this in a very relaxed way.
  2. Meditation: Practice meditation to quiet the mind and experience the present moment fully. This will better enable you to look deeply within.
  3. Self-Inquiry: Ask yourself, “Who am I?” This is not an intellectual inquiry – it is a penetrative looking. You can also ask, “who is eating, who is talking” etc.
  4. Read and Reflect: Engage with spiritual texts and teachings that resonate with your heart.
  5. Receive Support: Connect with others on the path to share insights and support each other’s growth. You will almost certainly also find that a mentor is needed because it is very difficult to discover your true nature from booking learning alone.

The journey back to Being is not really a journey at all – it is already here – instantly available but unseen. It is more of a relaxation back into ourself.
